Our Approach

We believe that lasting change for children requires an integrated approach that treats literacy, environmental justice, and inclusion as interconnected pathways. Our model places children at the center as active participants in shaping their own futures. We address these challenges through four interconnected pathways:

Literacy & Climate Justice

We design programs that link reading and learning with environmental action, because education and sustainability go hand in hand.

Child-Led Action

We empower children to become agents of change by leading reading clubs, planting trees, and sharing solutions within their communities.

Inclusive Education

We ensure children with disabilities are not left behind by providing Braille books, sign language support, and adapted learning tools.

Community Ownership

We build movements that last by engaging families, teachers, and local leaders through storytelling, campaigns, and intergenerational learning.

Our Story

Georgina Foundation is a living dream of an extraordinary young girl, Georgina Magesa, whose compassion and determination are already changing lives. By the age of eleven, Georgina had written five books, proof of her love for reading and storytelling. But her greatest gift is her heart shaped by watching her mother care for those the world often forgets: the sick, the poor, and children living on the streets. From her, Georgina learned that every child deserves dignity, love, and the chance to reach their fullest potential.

In 2022, while visiting her grandfather’s village in Mara Region, Georgina saw children walking long distances to school under a scorching sun, classrooms without books, and young ones carrying heavy buckets of water, yet still yearning to learn. She could not turn away. Every afternoon, she gathered children under a tree, teaching them letters, numbers, and stories, and showing them how planting trees was as vital as planting hope. In their laughter, she discovered not just a need, but a calling.

"I will start a foundation so every child, regardless of their struggles, can read, learn, and dream." - Georgina Magesa, 2022

We strive to create a future where every child has the power to learn, thrive, and lead their communities in protecting the environment.

Our Programs

We bring literacy and climate education together through hands-on, child-centered programs that create lasting impact:

1 Child. 1 Tree. 1 Book.

Every child plants a tree and receives a book, nurturing a love for learning and a sense of responsibility for the environment.

Fungua Kitabu Tusome Wote

Community reading clubs that bring together children to learn, share stories, and discuss climate, health, and resilience.

Eco-Learning in Action

Hands-on school and community gardens that teach children sustainable farming, nutrition, and climate-smart practices.

Our Partners & Funders

No single organization can solve the challenges facing children alone. We work hand in hand with partners and funders who believe in the power of education and climate action to transform lives. Through collaboration, we turn shared values into meaningful results on the ground.

A healthy, educated child, equipped with tools to care for their planet, can change the world.
